Building Services Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Building Services Consultant to join our team. Building Services Consultant will play a critical role in providing expertise and guidance on the design, installation, and maintenance of building systems, ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering and a thorough understanding of building services principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive building services designs that meet project objectives and requirements.
  • Design and manage Civil, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems to ensure efficient and sustainable operation.
  • Assess existing building systems to identify opportunities for improvement in energy efficiency, cost savings, and performance.
  • Perform load calculations, energy simulations, and system sizing to optimize design outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance to clients and project teams on building services design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Advise on the selection of equipment, materials, and technologies that align with project goals.
  • Stay current with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure designs and installations meet legal and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that building services designs adhere to environmental and sustainability guidelines.
  • Coordinate and manage building services aspects of projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration of building systems within the overall design.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions that align with their objectives.
  • Present technical information and design concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and documentation for building services systems.
  • Document design decisions, assumptions, and calculations for future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in building services engineering.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the knowledge-sharing within the team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or Civil degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Building Services Consultant or a related role in the construction or engineering industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Civil, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform load calculations, energy simulations, and system sizing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and client engagement.
  • Project management skills to coordinate and oversee building services aspects of projects.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Problem-solving orientation and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
