Job Description:

CAD Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer to join our team. The CAD operator will be responsible for creating accurate and precise technical drawings and plans for civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, proficiency in AutoCAD software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed and accurate technical drawings, plans, and layouts for various civil engineering projects, including site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and more.
  • Interpret and translate engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into CAD drawings.
  • Develop and maintain organized CAD files, ensuring that all drawings are labeled, indexed, and properly documented.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings align with project requirements and standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD software to produce 2D and 3D drawings with precision and attention to detail.
  • Stay current with the latest AutoCAD tools and techniques to optimize design processes.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints.
  • Collaborate with other designers, drafters, and engineers to ensure accurate integration of various design components.
  • Review and cross-check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify and rectify any design inconsistencies or errors.
  • Effectively communicate design ideas and solutions to project stakeholders, both verbally and through visual presentations.
  • Document design decisions and rationale for future reference and collaboration.
  • Participate in design review meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for process improvements and design enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Operator Designer, preferably in civil engineering or construction projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software for 2D and 3D drafting.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts, terminology, and standards.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve design-related issues.
  • Time management skills to meet project deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
