Job Description:

Plasterer

We are recruiting a skilled Plasterer to join our construction and renovation team. As a Plasterer, your responsibilities will include consulting with clients, preparing un-plastered or previously plastered surfaces, mixing plaster, and applying base and finishing layers of plaster to walls and ceilings. You may work on indoor or outdoor surfaces, fix damaged areas, and work as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and mixing different types of raw materials to get the plaster ready
  • Applying the plaster to the surface being worked on (inside walls, ceilings, outside walls)
  • Carrying out solid plastering as well as applying wet finishes
  • Fitting internal plasterboards, also referred to as dry lining or wallboard. This task can involve affixing partitions
  • Installing outer coverings, such as pebble-dash or sand, on outside walls for protection
  • Using moulds and casts for the creation of ornaments and other types of plaster work
  • Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job
  • Realising repairs and renovations
  • Meeting with clients or the foreman to discuss the scope of the work.
  • Collaborating with other tradespeople to ensure the overall project deadline is met.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A Diploma in Plastering, Construction Skills Plastering, or On-Site Construction.
  • Construction Skills Certifications Scheme.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at height.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Be detail orientated and thorough
  • Be a team player and therefore able to work in a group
  • Be agile with their hands
  • Work with tight timelines and be able to handle pressure
  • Be accustomed to building and construction sites
  • Have basic business skills
  • Know the basics of computers and other hand-held devices
